Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed that Cole Palmer and Estevao WillianChelsea FC travel to face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday.
However, Rosenior revealed that Reece James and former Wolves winger Pedro Neto will be assessed closer to kick-off, with late decisions to be made on their availability.
The Blues head into the Premier League fixture eager to bounce back following a narrow defeat to Arsenal in the Carabao Cup semi-final.
Despite Wolves sitting bottom of the league table after 24 matches, Rosenior is anticipating a tough encounter against a side he believes will be highly competitive on home soil.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference at Cobham, Rosenior confirmed Palmer and Estevao are both ready to handle a full match.
“Yes, they are both fit to play 90 minutes,” Rosenior said. “We don’t know yet about Reece and Pedro. Today was a recovery session after a really tough, physical game on Tuesday. We’ll assess them tomorrow and then make a decision.”
The Chelsea boss also delivered disappointing news regarding Jamie Gittens, who is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury.
“Jamie is looking a little bit more long-term. It’s a real shame for him — he’s got a tear in his hamstring,” Rosenior explained. “I haven’t worked with him for long, but I know about his career and how outstanding a player he is. He’s going to be a big miss for us.”
Chelsea will hope the positive fitness news surrounding Palmer and Estevao can help them secure a crucial result in the Midlands as they look to get back to winning ways in the league.
